About Me

Eileen at Cooee Craft: Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia; I'm no longer a closet crafty. I'm a work in progress, an evolving artist who enjoys changing direction every few years just because I can. Now I know why I looked forward to retirement so much ........ this is what it was meant to be........ a studio in the sun. I started sculpting in clay many years ago and changed to painting in acrylics when kneading the clay got a bit hard on the hands. Several years ago I visited my first quilt show and thought "this is the craft for me, I can paint with fabric". Well, evolution is a wonderful thing. I've since progressed to felting and fibre art. It seems I've gone full circle. Instead of sculpting in clay, I'm sculpting with wool/felt. Among other things. Oh, and I'm thinking of doing some paper mache..it seems messy enough to try.

My 9 year old grandson, the fisherman, landed this 50cm Mangrove Jack all on his own. A pair of sore hands followed but it was worth it.
